This form should be used by students who would like to work on projects that
will span many DMC work sessions and may require additional resources or staff
assistance. Pre-approval is not necessary for casual use of the facility.
Who?
The Johns Hopkins University Digital Media Center can be used by any full-time
student in the Schools of Arts & Sciences and Engineering. The center is a non-academic
facility open to students of all majors and enrolled in all courses. Students
are welcome to work on both academic and non-academic projects. Major projects
requiring intensive computer time and staff assistance, must have prior approval
to reserve equipment.
When?
Project proposals can be submitted via email form anytime. They will be reviewed on an ongoing
basis with notification of acceptance given on the 15th and 30th of every month.
How?
- Formulate your project idea
- Contact DMC professional staff for assistance in developing the idea
- Attend workshops and use DMC materials to learn skills needed to realize the project
- Write and submit your project proposal
with as much lead time as possible
- Implement the project within the specified timeline
Why?
We have limited resources and therefore need an equitable way to divide them. By requesting
that students prepare project plans we can identify students who may need assistance in setting
realistic goals and timelines to ensure success.
What?
Please use form to submit your project for
approval. Please refer to the sample project proposal for assistance in completing
this form.
