JHUniverse Background
Revisions to JHUniverse
The home page of The Johns Hopkins University's Web site
has been revised to make it even easier for you to
navigate the site.
You'll note that as you roll your cursor over the 11 links
on the left side of the page, new submenus will appear on
the page. Moving your cursor to a submenu and clicking on
a link there will enable you to go directly to many of the
university's most-accessed pages, allowing you to skip
past the secondary-level page you've had to use in the
past.
In addition, the "featured links" on the right side of the
page will now "light up" as you move your cursor over
them, making it easier to select from the list of
important news items and announcements there.
Though these navigation improvements will help many
visitors to the university's site, there are, as always,
other routes available to the information you need. Many
users like the home page search box; others prefer the
"Browse Hopkins A to Z" link toward the bottom of the home
page, and still others depend on the "audience gateways"
in the black bar beneath the picture of Gilman Hall.
You may also wish to visit the
newly revised home
page of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the
Homewood campus.
Thanks to all those who contributed to this revision of
the university's home page, especially
Chris Pace, web development specialist in the Office of
Undergraduate Admissions. Special thanks also to Debra
Gips of Communications and Public Affairs and Brian Cole
of Hopkins Information Technology Services.
