Lights spark a season of celebration

The Lighting of the Quads at Homewood has become a Johns Hopkins tradition. It brings hundreds of students, faculty and staff outdoors to the Keyser Quadrangle, between the Eisenhower Library and Gilman Hall, to begin the month of December.
At the sixth annual lighting ceremony, on a brisk, windy (and slightly damp) Wednesday evening, the crowd heard performances from a cappella groups, sipped hot chocolate, and watched as President Ron Daniels and Provost Lloyd Minor flipped the switch with the JHU Pep Band playing the background.
In that moment, the quad lit up, kicking off a season of celebration on the Homewood campus.
