A native of Baltimore, Jerry Schnydman has been an integral
part of the university's life since the 1960s, when he
graduated from Johns Hopkins with a degree in humanistic
studies and received the Alexander K. Barton Cup for
"strong character, high ideals, and effective moral
leadership."
Since 1978, he has served the university as director of
undergraduate admissions for the schools of Arts and
Sciences and Engineering, executive director of the Office
of Alumni Relations, and today, as executive assistant to
the president and secretary of the board of trustees.
In November 2003 he was inducted into the National Lacrosse
Hall of Fame, and in 1998, he was inducted into the Johns
Hopkins Athletic Hall of Fame for his achievements as a
lacrosse player and as captain of the 1967 national
championship team. He is active in the Baltimore community
and serves as a member of the board of trustees and
Selection Committee of the Morris Goldseker Foundation of
Maryland Inc. He and his wife, Tammy, a special education
teacher, have two grown children and four grandchildren.
