When the holiday falls on a Saturday, it is observed on the Friday before and when the holiday falls on a Sunday, it is observed on the Monday following the holiday. Refer to the Personnel Policy Manual, Section 12 for eligibility for floating holidays.

Holidays for bargaining unit employees appear in the Agreement between the University and Local 572.

* Each division can decide to lift minimum staffing requirements. Employees who decide to take the extra half days off from work must use vacation time.

** Presidents' Day is a designated holiday for bargaining unit employees eligible for holidays; other employees eligible for holiday leave receive a floating holiday.

*** Commencement Day is observed by departments located physically on the Homewood campus, (including Housing and all departments in the Wyman Park and Remington buildings), and SAIS and all bargaining unit employees eligible for holidays. For other departments (including those on the Keswick and Johns Hopkins@Eastern Campuses, Commencement Day will be a regular business day and all affected employees will receive an additional floating holiday.
